Be My Guest: Russian for European Hospitality

The aim of Be My Guest project is to create a basic online course of Russian language. Taking into account the importance of Russian as a language of global communication and the increased number of people speaking Russian as a native or second language in enlarged Europe, the project seeks to explore advantages that learning of this language can provide to Europeans with the view to enhancing and improving communication and intercultural understanding.
The online course is addressed to:
- people occupied or seeking employment in tourism
- providers of home accommodation
- hotel and restaurant staff
- tourists in Europe using Russian as a language of communication
Be My Guest is for anyone who wants within a short time to learn to communicate in Russian in everyday situations related to staying in a hotel, visiting a new city and getting acquainted with new people.
Be My Guest offers to learners of the Russian language:
- Real spoken language
- Independent learning
- Four access languages: English, Italian, Spanish and Bulgarian
The course consists of 4 sections:
- Learning Russian containing learning units with language patterns and exercises.
- Grammar reference with short presentation of main issues of the Russian grammar.
- Online dictionary .
- Test yourself section giving the learners an opportunity to assess their progress.
